This antique tray is one of the loveliest and strangest i’ve seen in years…
It may be Persian, or possibly Afghan. Featuring an utterly mysterious scence of giant owls, doves, dancers, and an elephant, i can only imagine it is referencing some fable or folk tale but i can’t say more than that…
The tray is made of brass and is heavy and of excellent quality. I belive it to be late 19th century. i wish i could tell you more but this lovely piece is a bit of a mystery – it’s in excellent condition and will look amazing as a decorative artefact in any room. To be honest, if i had the space i would keep it!
